The Cooperative Research Centre for Welded Structures (CRCWS) is a cooperative venture which brings together the collective research and industrial expertise of 16 Core Participant organisations. The Centre's focus is the delivery of cost-effective and innovative solutions in response to industry needs in the design, fabrication and life extension of welded structures such as pipelines, power generation plant, building and offshore structures.

The CRC-WS offers postgraduate scholarships opportunities from time to time in relation to several projects that it undertakes under its Research Program.
